Aqua Dress

I got crafty this Christmas
and decided to make some presents...

A Mason jar filled with ingredients
for "Simple S'mores Bars."
(Teddy Grahams, Mini Marshmallows,
Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips,
and Light Brown Sugar)

I may be making a few more of them,
because frankly they are easy to make
but super cute for gifts!

For the recipe card, I used some new fonts...
I got the idea for one of them from Brooke.
I have definitely been playing around with
them to make fun cards and the like.

I will probably be spending my evening
wrapping presents and making
more of those recipe gift jars.

Enjoy your last couple of days
before Christmas!

One Cozy Mitten

I just spent the last two days at work
stuffing about 525 envelopes
for our yearly scholarship notifications
for high school students.

4619654096_77d22fe958_large
They weren't this pretty though.

Yeesh.

That is some tiring stuff right there.
Sheer monotony.
But I had a lot of help and I am sooo grateful.

I'm so ready for a week off of work,
so that I can start concentrating on
some serious planning for the wedding.

Looking at dresses next week.
Super excited.
Having a Monica from Friends moment.

In the next couple of months,
I will probably be busy stuffing more envelopes.
Smiley!

Threadless Record

Last week until Christmas!

Are you excited?

I know I am.

I'm gathering the last presents on
my list and wrapping them early, so
I don't have to worry about it on Friday evening.

I may even use some of E-liz's nifty wrapping ideas.

I found some sweet wrapping paper
the other day at the Target.
It's A Christmas Story themed wrapping paper.
"Ralphie! You'll shoot your eye out!"
Classic.

However, I'm not so boss at wrapping.
I try my best, but frankly,
people are going to rip it apart regardless of presentation,
so I can't make myself care about it too much.

I also saw this on weheartit today and immediately want
this little fellow.

Isn't he the cutest wittle fing ever?
I think so!

Have a good Monday.

Trés

I just made a musical note with the alt keys
and I don't know how I did it.

Dang.

Anywho, are you still trying to get gifts before Christmas?
Procrastinate much?

Yeah, me too.

Etsy is trying to help you and me out this year

If your lady or little girl likes owls:
Tiny owl necklace in silver

Or they have a weird affinity for opossums:
weird Opossum Jewelry brooch pin

Or a sweet tooth:
Julie's Fudge EVERY WEEK - 4 Weeks - 1/2 pound (6 pieces) each week - YOU Choose Flavors
(However, if you really want some fudge,
you can ask me and I won't charge you.)

If you've got a fella that likes neato things:
Clock made from a recycled Bike crank
I bought one of these last year from pixelthis,
and the seller is super nice and ships very quickly.

This is actually from Patina,
but I thought it was neato mosquito.

Also from Patina
and I thought it was funny.
So there.

Nerd Herder odds and ends gadget wallet in Power Suit- iPod, Droid, Zune, MP3, metronome, digital camera, earbuds, SD cards, USB, extra batteries, guitar picks, IDs, credit cards, phone- one wallet holds whatever you want to round up.

A wallet for all those little things...
for your nerdy man...
An ipod.
Guitar pick...
USB drive...

So there you go.
Get some cool gifties for your special someone
or kiddies or friendies or strangers.
I don't care. You're buying them.

Antler Headband

I found this on Patina today
and have decided to add it
to my list of decor.
And a possible Christmas present?
Ehhhh??

The plaque is actually longer,
but the pic just includes
a few of the cute "you are" phrases.

Not cheesy.
At all.

It's fun to think about
my life with my future husband,
and the cheesy things we will say,
buy, and do.

Just sayin'.

Christmas Chutney

It's Wednesday already?

December is just flying by.
Did you see that there's only 9 days left until Christmas!
Yeah, the countdown is to your right. Over there----->
There's still a ton of things on my list
to pick up before Christmas,
but hopefully they will be completed fairly soon...
let's say December 24th at 6:00pm.

Plus there's a whole new dynamic this year.
I've got to split Christmas time between two different families this year.
Woooooooooo!

I'm still very excited.
Can't you tell?

Testing the Spirits.

Friends Pivot T-Shirt

I remembered today why I say the word "pivot" like I do.
Hahahaha.

Oh, Ross.
I sure do miss Friends

Although, I will say that NBC has done a pretty good
job of filling up Thursday night with great alternatives.

The Office.
Community.
30 Rock.
Parks and Recreation.

Very good shows.

Here's the Christmas episode of
Community.
Enjoy.

When I say 11am, I mean 11am.

Found a hilarious grouping of pictures
on Funny or Die today.

If Home Alone was covered by the local news:

News-anchor-gunman_fullsize

Buzz2_fullsize

Here's the link.

That being said.
Watch Home Alone.
That is all.

A Very Glee Christmas

Nicely done.

"On dry runs, Santy uses the Isuzu."

Also, Happy Birthday to my brother, Dylan,
who is now 17.

Crazy.

Oh yeah, and happy birthday, Jeff and Brad... too.
I guess.
Haha.

Scarf Weather

Is it ok now?

I mean, even if it wasn't, I would
still be rockin' one of my many scarves.

They are my favorite accessory.

Haha, I loved that I found an owl scarf picture.
I really want to order these and send them to everyone
for Christmas.

Ornament Overload

Why does Christmastime always seem
to carry an ever so slight amount of stress with it?

It's just there.
Hovering over you, waiting to pounce,
so that when you are truly in a bind,
that stress will settle onto you and
you will snap. Boom.

Let me just say sorry in advance.

And...moving on!

Decorations are going up around campus
and town and I love it!

Christmas Cheer is Here at UA!

This week also seems filled with
Christmas-y activities.

The annual Christmas parade is tonight
and Dickens Downtown is tomorrow night.

Exciting.

If campus looked like this at night, I would camp
out every day until Christmas.
You doubt me?

The boys (aka my roommates) decorated the house
yesterday and needless to say it doesn't look like this:

But it was pretty darn close.
Very nice job, guys.
You thought I was going to say it looked bad, didn't you?

Run, Run Rudolph

Busy day today, peeps.

Lots of work to do.

Things to get done.

Starting now...

Ok, now.

Oh, all right, I will start in just a bit.

So, here's a new question for the season:

Do you do Christmas season service projects?

I always like to, because it's something that I enjoy doing
and something that's important for many families during this time of year.

This year I'm hoping to either start a Christmas soup kitchen with my church
OR
volunteer with projects already started.

Party Planner

Christmas music is still going strong.
I apologize to those who don't like
the music as much as I do.

You will get a reprieve when we
leave for Christmas break on the 23rd.

Right now, I'm planning
my office's Christmas party.
Any good ideas?

I may be stealing some funny ideas
from the actual Office, if you know what I mean.

Until I figure out what to do,
please enjoy this funny sketch from SNL.

Laugh. You know it's funny.

Have a great Thursday.

And happy 23rd birthday to my friend, Casey!

It's not funny...it's art.

Good Morning!

I've officially started the countdown clock...
as you can plainly see to your right...
for Christmas.

It is the best time of year, you know?

My Pandora station is set on
"Swingin' Christmas"
and let me tell you..
IT IS!

Christmas songs just aren't like
they used to be before I was born.
Now they're all folk-y and sad
or synth-y and dumb.

Not only do I have to get some sweet
Christmas gifts for family and friends,
I also have to get a bunch of birthday gifts
as both my mom and brother have birthdays in
December!

Already took care of Dylan's birthday present
(thanks for the heads up, Dyl)
and I sadly I have no idea
what to get for my mother...
but I'm sure I'll think of something.

When do you do your Christmas shopping?
Super early (like in July) or 5:00 pm on Christmas Eve?

In honor of the season,
I'm posting one clip a day
from my favorite Christmas movies.

Christmas Blend

It's Cyber Monday, folks.
Buy anything sweet yet?

I'm looking through the good sales
on Etsy right now.

Especially the Christmas-y stuff, e.g.ornaments, wreaths, cards
etc. etc. etc.!!!

Like this one from

partridge ornament

A loverly partridge ornament for your kitschy tree!

And don't think that I would leave out this ornament...

owl ornament

It's an owl!!

And please excuse the language,
but I love the quote,
Hallelujah, Holy Sht, Pass The Tylenol - Christmas Ornament
as it's from Christmas Vacation!
I may be commissioning

to make another ornament with
some funny Home Alone quotes or something.

I'm hoping to see the movie that inspired this ornament at the Alabama Theatre
in the coming weeks!! Check out the schedule and see
if your favorite Christmas movie is playing there as well!

Other than ornaments,
have you sent your Christmas cards yet?

Yeah, me neither.

If you need some ideas,
check out these cool letterpress cards...

This one is probably my favorite

 Happy shopping!
And have a great holiday season!!!

Foggy Friday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving
with your families, friends. etc.

We (me and Jesse, that is...and don't mind the poor grammar)
had a very nice time with
my fam, eating lots and watching football
and On Demand Conan.

And I did look at the sale inserts in the paper,
of which there were more than I've ever seen...ever.
But...

No Black Friday here, peeps.

It's crazy foggy outside my window
and I'm pretty sure that it's raining,
but again, I can't really see it.

I'm sooo glad that I didn't wake up at 3am
to go gallavanting around Tuscaloosa
to stand in line for eons to buy
things that will be out of style next week.

Yuck.

I'd rather just chill at my house and
practice some online shopping.
That's ok.

Now the countdown begins for
Christmas!!
