Drama Queen

(Lyrics from the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs.)

Happy Friday!
Listening to some fabulous music while working today.
Good music always improves my mood, even if it's not bad  in the first place.

Today's musical genres are Swing and Vocal Jazz. Mmm.... love it.

When you're a Jet...

Hello, Thursday.
Looking good!

Love the hilarious dialogue between Shawn and Gus on Psych. Classic.

"They only thing we're blinded by is....
SCIENCE!
That never gets old.
Nope."

"Are you mocking my 'it's a clue' face?"
-Shawn

Oh and btw, thank you!
I look forward to making fun of the movie with you!

Like the corners of my mind...

Pic from here.

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but
I kind of hope that this cake is given to those who participated in The Bachelor Pad.

Moving on. Good.

Middle of the week. Nothing much to do.
Except field questions about people's lack of common sense.

"Hi, I signed  up for some classes, but I don't remember which ones.
Oh, and by the way, I'm in grad school."

Are you serious? How do you sign up for a class and then forget what it was?
Also, how did you manage to get into grad school?

Speaking of which, I checked out the sitch to get back into school.
Started my application the other day and will be looking into taking the GRE...soon.
From looking at the schedules of the past few semesters,
it seems like I can take quite a few of these courses...ONLINE!

Book to add to my collection:
John Margolies, Roadside America

I love Taschen books.

Hyperdrive

I must visit this library.

Kansas City Public Library (Missouri, United States)

Kansas City, MO

That being said, how is everyone's Tuesday coming along?
Nicely, I hope.

Did anyone watch The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All last night?
As usual, I watched with my Monday night TV buddies
and really wished that I had seen more of this season.
I missed so many episodes of craziness.

They addressed the "villains" of the show, Justin and Frank,
who were both absent for this particular episode.
 Hmm... I wonder why?

One only wanted to be on the show to promote his wrestling career...because that's what wrestling agents look at when deciding on good wrestlers. "Oh yeah, Bob. That "Rated-R" is awesome! He was on the last season of The Bachelorette. He could be a jerk full-time on WWF!"
(or whatever wresting group is around these days)

Frank (as you probably know) left the show after telling Ali that he was still in love with his ex-girlfriend. Classy, Frank. Really.

Then again, what is classy about this show?
Nothing much, seeing as they were promoting The Bachelor Pad during the commercial breaks, which is just another show for people who were too old to be on The Real World, but still wanted STDs.

On another note, I got a new planner.
Let's just say that my weekends are filling up pretty quickly this fall.
Roll tide.

Guts!

It's official. The best movie of the summer is Ramona and Beezus. Just bt-dub.

Christa and I went to see it last night and enjoyed every minute of it. I even cried.
Yes, cried. I won't tell you at what parts though. Haha.
Don't want to give anything away for you.

If you don't know what I am talking about,
you obviously did not read any books by Beverly Cleary when you were young.

My favorites:

It was good to watch a movie and think about the good ol' days of childhood and Yoo-Hoos.
(And yes, I totally had a yoo-hoo before church yesterday.
And a Hawaiian punch with my dinner.
I'm apparently seven again.)

It's always nice to have a break after thinking about grown-up stuff. :)

Have a great day!

Bidness

Let me count the ways... 1-1000, 2-1000, 3-1000...

Another fine Thursday. Don't be mad, but I kinda watched an episode or 3 of the 4th season of
The IT Crowd....a Russian website helped me out,
since Channel 4 doesn't like showing its programmes to Americans....

Let me just say... this season is probably the best of the four. Period.
Although, I miss Richmond.
I look forward to re-watching them. Very soon.

On another note, tonight is small group.
Menu: Grilled wings.
Kelly is helping me out with the grill and my favorite sous chef, Jesse is helping me with the rest.
Thanks!

Conflict Resolution

Etsy shop: The Big Harumph.

Today, I'm going on a boat ride. I'm gonna have this song in my head the whole time. Enjoy.
"Never thought I'd be on a boat...Poseidon look at me!"

The boat ride was super fun. Glad to be back in the A/C though.
Listening to some softer tunes to lull me into a nice calm state.
Hope your Wednesday has been easy-peasy and stress-free.
Zzzzzzz..........

So true...

"If you type 'google' into Google, you will break the Internet."
Don't even joke about it.
I know what you're thinking... don't go to Google. You will regret it.

Pic from here.

Look what you did! Oh wait... never mind... nothing happened.
Way to bust that myth.
I never would have tried it, but thanks.

Since we don't have to worry about the end of the Internet...Prince,
I hope that you are having a fine Tuesday.
I know that mine is nice.

Already had a discussion about The Bachelorette with Vicki about how Ali... well, is dumb.
She gets mad at Frank for realizing his unresolved feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Nicole... "UP TOP!"
when she just spent two consecutive nights with two different dudes...
moral compass... non-existent?
Whatever.

Question(s) of the day:
What is art? Is art, art?

Confidence in Spring...er... Summertime.

Good morning to you.

"It is what it is. These people aren't that good, but you kinda hope that they can be better."
-Vicki commenting on The Bachelorette

Sorry, I'm going to rant about that show today.
I've started watching The Bachelorette on Mondays and am frankly disgusted at Ali.

Reason 1: She knows how crappy it is to be strung along like you are worth something and then cast aside, but still manages to do the same thing to all of these guys.

Reason 2: She acted like she was in love with all 4 guys last night while visiting their families.
What is that about?

Reason 3: She said that she and Frank were perfect for each other. In what way is that, Ali?
Is it when Frank looks you in the eye when he tells you about how he feels? Oh..wait. He doesn't look you in the eye. He never truly feels comfortable in this relationship with you, because he has to share you with three other guys. And what in the world was up with the wife beater and cardigan, Frank? Ewww.

There are many other reasons to completely dislike this show, but I narrowed it down to three. And it isn't just you, Ali. It's the show. I know they make you do certain things, but seriously... wow.
And btw, Matt H. thinks you're too needy, Chris. Sorry. Haha.

You've LOST your magic, ABC. Ah, thank you.

Random picture....and Go!
And no, they still are not in alphabetical order. :)

Paul's Sales Pitch

In case you forgot, I love to cook things.
Most of the time I love to bake things and then not eat them,
hoping people will like them enough to make them disappear.

And yes, I am still planning on making those black and whites for you,
fine workers of Hooligan's,
please be patient.
haha.

For tonight, I will be making some yummy quesadillas from a recipe that I found on The Pioneer Woman.
Chicken and Pineapple Quesadillas.
If you would like to partake, please stop by the house tonight for dinner and Bible study.

And for dessert....

Lemon Squares. Yum.

I've looked at so many recipes today I am almost tempted to call one of my friends
and open a bakery so that I have a reason to make them all.

Any suggestions for bakery names?

Certificated

Hope everyone had a fabulous looong weekend.

Let me just say this...I wish I made a lot of money. And only for one reason... Anthropologie.

If I did, I would have bought

this and...

that and...

this (especially) and...

those and...

that.

For now, I could seriously add about 15 more items
that I saw this weekend that needed to live at my house.

As promised, we finished the first three seasons of The IT Crowd, which was awesome.
And the fourth season just started this June...so yeah.

Richard Ayoade aka "Moss"

Also, if you haven't been to Chattanooga recently...Go.
 It's pretty neat-o.

Walnut Street Bridge.

Mellow Mushroom (as always, Hawaiian pizza FTW.)

Bus Bench Ad

"The greatest lesson we can learn from the past is that freedom
is at the core of every successful nation."
-Anonymous

To celebrate the 4th of July this year, Jesse and I will be watching a fabulous British show,
The IT Crowd.  (Two of the actors from that show are also in Pirate Radio, which is a great movie with one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. Of All Time. Quote me on that.)

Also, Black Dynamite. Ah yeah.

I will also do the American thing and participate in some serious consumerism.
Major sales this weekend, people....just bt-dub.

And has anyone else seen the back of the new penny?
Follow-up question: Why is there a new penny?

Visual of back: Lincoln reading while sitting on the log of a tree that he just felled.
I wonder what he's reading. A law book? The Bible? Pride and Prejudice
I bet it's Pride and Prejudice. He seems like he would have liked Jane Austen.

Have a great weekend and Independence Day! U S A! U S A!

Strawberry Seeds

I'm part of the "in crowd." I go where the "in crowd" goes.

That's right, people. I have an iTouch.
It's definitely weird to actually understand conversations with your roommates
now that you know what all of these "apps" are.
I can watch videos and read books and listen to music and play scrabble and sudoku and all that jazz!
I'm probably overexcited, but I figure the novelty will wear off quickly
and I won't really care that I have one after a while.

On a totally different note, the new Passenger album was finally released in the U.S. on iTunes.
About flippin' time, yo.
I can't really say right now if it's better than their last album, Wicked Man's Rest
but I am doing some in-depth listening to both albums for comparative research.

I'm a fan of grooveshark, but they are failing a bit on the "new songs by Passenger."  Here are some goodies from their last album though. Enjoy.
