Trois Mariages

Well, the three engaged couples of Safe Haven
are finally married off.
(At least the ones that were engaged within a month of each other.)

Jesse and I were first in April,
and then the Praters began the month of June
as husband and wife,
and now The Morris's
have ended the month
with their legally-binding sermon.

It was amazing going through the past 6 months
experiencing the ups and downs of planning
a wedding and talking about our expectations
for our weddings and marriages.

Cheers to all of the new happy couples.
We love you
and wish you a wonderful life
for years and years to come.

amicus/amica

I'm so thankful for my friends
during this time of planning
and preparation with Jesse for our wedding
in 44 days!

And I neglected to show some
of my favorite pics from
Jesse's and my engagement party
last weekend.

(as you can see, i tweaked them a little bit, using Picasa and Picnik)

Thanks again, Brooke, for doing such
a wonderful job with the photobooth
and for your awesome cupcakes!

Also, happy 11 months, Jesse!
I love you.

Party Pooped.

Let me tell you...
I'm partied out...at least until April.

Friday night, some friends and I drove up
to Birmingham to attend a fancy lingerie shower
for our friend, Brianne.
(Always a blush-worthy kind of event)

I don't even know how I'm going to handle
my own in April.
Yeesh!

On Saturday, Jesse and I braved the roads
through the rain from Birmingham
back to Tuscaloosa,
so that we could attend
our fabulous engagement party,
hosted by some of my bridesmaids
(Haley, Kim, and Jennifer),
and another friend (Brookie!),
who set up a wonderful photobooth
for everyone to enjoy.

I think Jesse and I were both so
amazed at the people who
came and made us feel super loved.
We love you guys!

On Sunday afternoon,
I had to attend a bridal tea
for me, hosted by my aunts
and some ladies from
my mom's church,
aka the church I grew up in.
(P.S. I'm so glad that some of the
ladies finally got to meet Jesse!
He popped in at the beginning
and then headed to work.)

Let me just say that I was completely
overwhelmed the second I walked in
there, because they had themed the
party around my flowers
for the wedding.
There were daisies on the tables
and a double daisy cupcake cake
and other yellow and white treats
on the tea table.

It was so pretty!

I was also completely taken aback
at the amount of gifts that Jesse and I
received (mostly cake plates...haha)

Definitely experienced another
moment of complete humility
from the love from those ladies.

(I must have really loved those towels...)

Thanks, Kim, for taking all of the pictures!
Best cousin ever!

I better not have that...

I'm certainly not talking about these
precious cupcakes
that I saw on cakewrecks

They are awesome.
Guess which ones I love.

I seriously hope that I do not
get this virus that
is spreading around town.

A few of my friends have
had it already and I would
rather not.

So there.

On a happier note, I GOT MY DRESS YESTERDAY!!!!!!

Wooooooo!

It's amazing and wonderful and stupendous
and absolutely gorgeous and
I am sooo excited to wear it in April!

Just sayin'.

I just can't help myself

This week is crazy, for reals.

I don't think I have a break until next year.
(That's just speculation.)
Just sayin'.

Between work (both UA and tutoring), church,
time with Jesse, time with friends, wedding planning,
premarital counseling book reading, and etc. etc. etc.,
I'm feeling a little overwhelmed,
but not really discouraged,
which is probably a great thing.

However, I have been listening
to some awesome music this week.
Namely, my wedding song list
and Mumford & Sons
(which isn't on my wedding mix).

I watched their Grammy's performance
and almost got up and danced at my desk.
They make me want to play the banjo.
Or any instrument, really,
that's going to contribute to
that awesome sound.

Enjoy some Irish-y folk goodness.

I'm also looking forward to an awesome
concert at the new amphitheater.
Thank you, Avett Brothers.

(Also, thanks to Casey and Julie,
who stood in line for tickets.
You are awesome.)

Happy Valentine's Day, almost hub.

And you've been a-waiting for me
Tell me that you'll always be true
And you'll be the only one for me"

Whimsical Whimsy

Let's continue with some Valentine-y stuff, shall we?

Today, while looking on iTunes for some Glee songs from
last night, I noticed that iTunes was selling certain love songs
for 69¢!

So, of course, I selected a few (or 8... potato, potahto).

1. "Save the Last Dance for Me" The Drifters

2. "I Need You" America

3. "Can't Fight This Feeling" REO Speedwagon

4. "Drive" The Cars

5. "I Love You Always Forever" Donna Lewis

I hope you enjoyed the music selections
and it has you thinking about your favorite love songs...
or anti-love songs.
Whichever floats your love boat... ah...thank you.

I'm Forever Yours...

This year is the first that
it is imperative that I celebrate Valentine's Day.

As part of a couple.

Not as anti-V Day,
but pro.

Crazy.

Just read some of my posts from last February...
Bo-ring.

Haha.

This time is also when I switched back
from Wordpress, because it was awful.

So, double bo-ring.

Moving back to present...
and cards!

I do so enjoy a good card.
Whether it's silly or just really well done.

Here are some of my favorite finds:

I thought this would be cute to give to
friends and the like.
Super cute.
All you need are paint color cards and stamps.
Boom.

Behind Every Clever Girl is a Guy with a Beard and Glasses card (valentine red)

They didn't have one with a
"circle beard."

Printable Owl Valentine Digital File

I had to pick one with owls on it,
of course.

You Complete Me - Gocco Valentine Card

I'm pretty sure I've seen this one before,
and put it on my blog,
but here it is again.
Classic.

Greeting Card - You're Better Than Cupcakes

I love this one for two reasons;
one, because it's so true, and two,
because the script and drawing
remind me of You Can't Do

That's all for today.
Don't want to inundate you
too much with Valentine goodies.

Don't be a sourpuss

Going through my calendar,
days are starting to fill up
with various activities,
work, church, friends, and wedding related.

Found out today that my membership to the rec
is still valid, so I can actually start working out regularly
indoors now without wearing an overcoat and boots to do so.

Must remember to bring my headphones that work,
so that I can plug into the system they have at the URec
and watch the various programs available.

The Strive for Five staff program is starting today,
so more motivation for me to stay healthy in
the upcoming months.

I wish winter would hurry up
and pass, because I'm tired of cold
and frost and biting wind.

I need sunshine.

I also need April to hurry up
and get here.
The month, that is.

I don't think I know anyone named April.

If I do and I forgot, sorry.

Looking forward to small group tonight,
making Chicken Alfredo.

I kind of wish that I already made it,
so I could have some for lunch today.
Haha.

Also, tomorrow night I will be attending Hillcrest Drama's production of:

One of the girls in 2420 youth
is a character and has invited everyone
to come and see the craziness that is this musical.

It should be pretty awesome.

Saw this pic and thought of you.
I love you and can't wait to be Mrs. Scott.
